DETAILS: Bonito is 3 years old, and despite everything life has put him through, he still has the kindest heart.

Bonito was found exhausted, carrying a terrible wound around his neck. He needed surgery, and today he still carries a large scar; painful reminder of a past he never deserved.

But look at him now…

Despite his scars, both visible and invisible, Bonito is still gentle, loving and ready to trust.

He gets along well with other dogs and has such a calm and balanced personality. When dogs bark at him from behind a fence, he doesn’t react or become aggressive. He simply ignores them or quietly moves away.

Bonito gets on well with female dogs. He has not yet been tested with male dogs.

He is also a wonderful boy on walks. Bonito walks beautifully on a lead and absolutely loves human affection. He enjoys being close to people and is happiest when he has someone nearby.

And his car manners are AMAZING!

Bonito loves travelling in the car and sits like a true little co-pilot, watching the road and enjoying the journey.

With cats, Bonito is neutral. However, he can feel a little unsure or tense around them, so living with a cat would need to be introduced slowly, gently and carefully.

There is one thing his future family needs to understand.

Because of what Bonito may have experienced in his past, he can become frightened if a hand is suddenly raised. We don’t know exactly what happened to him, but it is possible he was mistreated.

And this is why Bonito needs a patient, gentle and understanding family.

A family who will never rush him.

A family who will allow him to learn at his own pace.

A family who will show him that hands are not something to fear.

That hands can bring gentle strokes, treats, care and love. Bonito has survived pain.

He has survived fear.

He has survived something no dog should ever have to endure.

Now he deserves to discover something completely different.

He deserves a home.

A warm bed.

Safe walks.

Someone to sit beside him.

Someone who will love him for the beautiful boy he is.

Someone who will show him that his past does not define his future.

Bonito is still so young, with his whole life ahead of him. We want that life to be filled with love, safety, happiness and the freedom to finally live without pain or fear.

Behind that scar is a gentle boy with an enormous capacity to love.

He doesn’t need someone to save him from his past.

He needs someone to help him believe that the best part of his life is still to come.

Bonito is currently in Cyprus and will come to the UK when he has a home. £720 adoption fee and home check will apply.
