DETAILS: Mario is only 2 years old, and his greatest wish in life is simply to be loved.

This gorgeous little boy has had a difficult start in life. He was found after not being treated as he deserved, and thankfully he was taken in by the sanctuary where he has been given the chance to heal, feel safe and discover what it really means to be a dog.

And despite everything he has been through, Mario has never lost his love for people.

He absolutely adores humans and loves attention. He is a happy, cheerful little dog with a beautiful, joyful personality and is always ready to brighten someone’s day.

Mario is also fantastic with other dogs.

He approaches every kennel calmly and respectfully, greeting other dogs with wonderful canine manners. If another dog barks or becomes nervous, Mario doesn’t argue or react aggressively. Instead, he simply walks away, gives them space and time to investigate his scent, and then politely tries again later.

It really is such a lovely example of how gentle and emotionally intelligent this little boy is.

Mario currently shares his kennel with a female dog and they get along wonderfully.

He also travels well in the car and loves getting out to explore the world.

His walks can still be very energetic, and we think there is a reason for that…

For perhaps the first time in a long while, Mario is finally discovering the freedom to just be a dog.

He loves digging in the sand, searching for little treasures and happily spending time chewing on long-lasting treats. It is beautiful to see him discovering all the simple pleasures that every dog should have been able to enjoy.

Mario does have a strong instinct to chase cats, so he is looking for a cat-free home.

More than anything, Mario needs someone who will show him that his past is over.

He deserves a family who will be patient with him, love him unconditionally and give him the safe, happy life he has been waiting for.

He has already shown us that his difficult beginning hasn’t changed the beautiful dog underneath.

He is affectionate.
He is gentle.
He is optimistic.
He loves people.
And he is ready for his forever family.

Mario has spent enough time waiting.

Now he needs someone to look at him and say:

“You’re home.” 🏡❤️
