Roony

Roony is searching for his person, could this be you?

NAME: Roony

DATE ADDED: 18/04/2026

AGE (when posted): 1 1/2 years old*

SEX: Male

BREED: Mixed Breed

DETAILS: Roony is a 1 1/2 year-old boy with so much love to give, he just needs the right person to understand him.

Roony is incredibly smart and eager to learn. He picks up new commands very quickly, especially when food is involved. He’s highly food-motivated, which makes training a great bonding experience.

He’s an active, bright dog who will thrive with someone willing to engage his mind and energy. Underneath it all, he’s a sweet boy who simply wants connection and stability.

Roony is looking for a calm, predictable home with a patient and committed person. He struggles with isolation — being confined or left alone in a cage is very stressful for him. He truly needs to be part of someone’s life.

He can jump high, so a secure home and garden setup is important.

Roony came from another shelter where he was extremely stressed, sharing a cage with many other dogs. We don’t know his full past, but it’s likely this experience contributed to some of his current challenges, including resource guarding.

The good news is that he has already made great progress with training and continues to improve.

Roony may be able to live with another dog (he has previously shared space with a female), but he can react to dogs on walks, so this would need careful introduction and guidance.

Roony doesn’t need perfection, he just needs someone willing to give him a chance, provide structure, and show him what a safe, loving home feels like. In return, you’ll get a loyal, clever, and deeply devoted companion.

If you think you could be Roony’s person, please get in touch.

£405 adoption fee and home check will apply.
